Eadestown GAA – Garda Vetting Application Process

The GAA, LGFA, and Camogie Associations have updated how Garda Vetting applications are processed.
This is a mandatory requirement for all individuals involved with underage teams, alongside the compulsory Safeguarding Training.

Foireann System

All vetting is now completed through the Foireann Membership System

Create an account or log in if you already have one.
Begin your vetting application directly on the platform.

In-Person ID Check

You must meet with our Club Children’s Officer, Morgan Ashe, to verify your ID and complete the NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form

Upload Documents

After meeting Morgan:

Upload your validated forms and ID documents onto Foireann as part of your online vetting application.

Complete E-Vetting

You will receive an email invitation from the Garda National Vetting Bureau to complete your vetting form online.
⚠️ Important: The link expires after 30 days, so please act promptly.

Step-by-Step Guide

STEP 1 – Complete NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form

Print or download a blank NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form from the GAA website or Foireann.
Complete the form clearly and correctly.
Include the role you are applying for (refer to the list on the GAA website).
Tick the disclosures box to give consent to vetting.
Add your handwritten signature – digital or DocuSign signatures are not accepted.

STEP 2 – ID Verification

Arrange to meet the Club Children’s Officer with:

Your NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form
One form of photo ID and proof of address (issued within the last 6 months)

Acceptable Documents:

Driving Licence (credit card type)
Passport
Bank Statement (not Revolut or debt agency)
Utility Bill (not mobile phone)
National Identity Card (EU/EEA/Swiss)
Government Department Correspondence
Irish Certificate of Naturalisation
Letter of Residency from Local Council

STEP 3 – Validation of NVB1 Forms

The Children’s Officer completes the NVB1 Identity Document Validation Form, ensuring Sections 1–4 are filled in and all boxes ticked “Yes.”
The Officer signs, dates, and prints their name clearly – this date becomes the application date.
The applicant keeps a clear photo or photocopy of both NVB1 forms.
The Children’s Officer retains the original forms securely for 6 months, after which they are destroyed in accordance with data protection guidelines.

STEP 4 – Submit on Foireann

Log in or create a Foireann account.
Confirm your profile details (including Date of Birth and Eircode/Postcode).
Go to Vetting & Qualifications → Apply to be Garda Vetted.
Choose your Club and Association.
Select the appropriate Role Rationale for Vetting.
Review all information and confirm your consent.
Click Next: Upload Your Documents.
Upload all forms and ID documents used during your ID check.
- Note: The ID shown to the CCO must match what is uploaded on Foireann.
Ensure all sections show a green tick and then click Submit Vetting Application.

After Submission

Your application will first go to the Club Children’s Officer for approval.
It is then sent to the relevant Association for review.
You will receive an email confirmation once submitted.
Shortly after, you will receive an email from the Garda NVB with an invitation link to complete your vetting online.
⚠️ Complete this immediately – the link expires after 30 days.
(Check your spam/junk folder in case it lands there.)
